New Bus Route For New Forest Tour

A third route has been added to the New Forest National Park Authority’s successful New Forest Bus tours. The New Blue Route, which offers an open top circular tour of 38 miles between the picturesque village of Burley, to the coastal views of Bournemouth bay and the Isle Of Wight from Barton On Sea and Milford On Sea, and then on to Lymington with its attractive high street and marinas, was launched at Milford by local authority officials and management and drivers from bus operator Wilts & Dorset and sister company Bluestar.

Wilts & Dorset has provided the open top double deck service to the Park Authority since 2007 when over 9000 passenger journeys were made. Last year saw 34,000 passengers using the hop on and off hourly services. Andrew Wickham, Managing Director of Wilts & Dorset said that they are delighted to provide the blue liveried Volvo B7TL for the new tour.

“This is the first of the tours to combine the beautiful countryside with the splendid coastal views. I would expect this carefully planned route, complete with recorded commentary, will become the most popular,”

The dedicated tour buses are operated from Wilts & Dorset’s Ringwood and Lymington depots and Bluestar’s Totton operation with a total of 13 staff and drivers assigned to the service until the end of September.
